Chris Last Bowling Trip in Okinawa!

We went to Kadena Bowling Alley yesterday and got in a few last games of bowling for Chris! Josh won the first game, then Chris brought on the pressure, winning the second, sooo of course they had to have a tie breaker! ;) Josh won! Chris did get down his back spin though!

Scaffolding

They are currently re-painting out 10 story tower (were we live!) and had to put scaffolding all the way to the top! Chris was very amused by this and wanted to show Grandpa Al! It has now been up a month and a half and they are finally done painting; the scaffolding and japanese men on my balconies should be gone soon! ;)

Deep Sea Fishing Charter!

Josh and Chris got to go on the Deep Sea Fishing Charter today! They came back with lots of Fish and a BAD sunburn for the both of them! ;) "Tough boys dont want to wear sunscreen, we will see how tough they are in the morning!" LOL. Josh caught the biggest fish on the charter... of course, it seems like he always does. Chris was a little nervous to go out in the deep ocean... he didnt want to be puking the whole time. Good news, they didnt puke, but did feel alittle sick. Josh caught a 36 lbs Wahoo while trolling out to sea. Both of them caught 6 skip jacks a peice. And came home with about 15 lbs of fish filets. Wahoo, Skip Jacks and Tuna! We are having a big fish BBQ at the barn on Tuesday. Chris said "he enjoyed his one day compensation for watching my children!" LOL This was quite the Okinawa experience!

Hibachi Grill

We went to hibachi grill for Fathers Day! We had at least 8 plates of Meat (you can see the plates of meat we get), 3 plates of Vegatables, and 4 Rice Bowls. We have a grill in the middle of the table and cook our own food. It seems like you will never get full when you start eating... but by the time you leave you can barely walk! We LOVE Hibachi Grill! It isnt always the best place to eat with kids, but we were prepared this time. We brought colorbooks, playdoh, and cars. The kids were good and we stayed and ate for 2 hours!

..

A Busy Busy Saturday!

We started off by going to Fischers friend Birthday party and playing on the slip and slide & Bounce House! We then headed for Comprehensive Water Park... oh! What fun! Fischer and Kennedy are still to small to enjoy the water slides, but they have a lazy river. We stayed at least 3 hours and they kids still didnt want to leave! Who knows how many times we floated down the lazy river and they have a awesome kids area. You can see it to the side in the pictures. It is about a foot deep and has giant misters and little slides for the kids! Chris got sunburnt... he said he wanted a Tan! LOL We had lunch and then we headed for Shurijo Castle Park. We didnt pay the fee to go all the way through the castle (maybe another time) but it was pretty what we did see of it!

After there we went to Kokusai Street. We parked in a japanese Parking lot and they have these things were you park in the spot and then a metal thing comes out of the ground and then you are locked in until you pay. Well the parking meter where you pay was all in japanese so we tried waiting to see if someone else would come and we could copy what they do. One guy came but he was leaving so we watched the buttons he pushed and remembered for when we were leaving. And then went on our way hoping that our van would still be there when we got back??? There was alot of shopping (expensive) but cool things to look at. We were all very hungry by then and Josh and Chris wanted a Sushi go around bar. So we were headed to drive somewhere else, again.

We went to American Village. The big Ferris Wheel place! We walked around until we found the Sushi Bar. We have been here a year and a half now and all these places were the 1st time we had been to them! Wow! Josh, Chris and Fischer went to the Sushi go around. " It was Sushi-rific" says Chris. You sit at a bar and the Sushi goes round and round on a conveyer belt and you choose what you want! " I ate eggs" say Fischer! "Crab, Rolls, Salmon, etc. It took us a while to figure out the prices, but we finally caught on!" explained Josh. While they ate Kennedy and I went to A&W All American Food!

After our long day we headed home and all fell quickly asleep.... Josh and Chris were having to get up at 2:00 AM for the fishing charter....

Little Update...

Hi All!
No pictures today. This week went by quick, it ended with Josh getting his wisdom teeth pulled. He is all swollen and slurred speech! He should be better in a couple of days. I broke two pairs of reins @ the barn in 2 days. (not good!) I have one more week of lessons before I try and fly out to California to drop off the kids. Then we are off the Alaska for a few weeks! Kennedy started sleeping in a BIG girl bed this week and did good with the change! Fischer has alot of mosquito bites b.c he hung out at the barn with mom last night. But he thinks its worth it! ;) And Chris improved his bowling a huge amount since he first got here! He bowled a 197 last night! His first game here in Okinawa he bowled a 58 and Fischer would usually beat him! LOL Tomorrow we are going to Comprehensive Water Park and we should have lots of pictures of that! Oh! Also, on Sunday if the weather is good Josh and Chris are going on a Deep Sea Fishing Charter!

Cleaning Day @ the Barn!

A Workin' Day @ Mihara!
The Barn was in need of some MAJOR cleaning and scrubbing! Some of the horses are getting some type of Fungus so we figured it was time to powerwash and bleach everything! Me & 4 of the barn gals went out on Saturday mornin (approx. 800am) and started spraying, bleaching and scrubbing the whole barn! At about 200pm we were done...damn thats a long time to scrub! Im sure we all have blisters/calluses on our hands to prove it! The barn looks alot better and smells alot better too! Around noon Josh, Chris and the kids showed up with some pizza and drinks and helped around the barn! After working for hours, we tacked up 3 ponies and 3 horses. (Sly, Mocha, Rocky, Essa, Makoto, Tamuro) and with Kennedy on my back in a backpack, we headed to the beach to take a well needed swim! We all had a blast @ the beach! & got some good pictures! Mocha dunked Julie in the water with a nice roll in the sand and Sly wasnt far behind to throw Josh in the water while he layed down in the water to take a rest! We just love the ponies! After we got back from the beach we all played with our horses in the Arena and got a little workout in! The last couple of days I have been giving Josh and Chris some lessons! Josh is becoming quite the cowboy and Sly (the pony he rode to the beach) is growing on him. (I think he is starting to treat him like his baby!) Josh can Walk, Trot and Canter all by himself now! Ill have to find him a nice Quarter horse once we get back to the States!

Well I am off to bed! Today is Fathers Day and we went out to dinner at a Hobachi Grill , we took some pics so I will have to post them tomorrow! HAPPY FATHERS DAY, Fathers! GoOD NIGHT!

5 Year Anniversary

HAPPY5th ANNIVERSARY!

Josh "picked" me up for our date, for our 5 year Anniversary! We went to Naha and boarded a Dinner Cruise Ship! "The Moby Dick " We were served drinks, all you can eat salad bar, appetizers, main course, and all you can eat fruit and dessert bar, with a coffee and tea drink bar. The picture that Josh is eating in, is a picture of the appetizers (not sure what it is?!) and it wasnt very appetizing! ;) Everything else was really good, we had good steaks for our main course and the Pineapple @ the dessert bar was to DIE for! Josh and I must have eaten a total of 4 pineapples, while we were there! LOL Best ones I have ever had! The cruise was about 2 hours and we got to see the sunset. Thank You Josh! We had a great night!

At the Northern Point of Okinawa!

After Hiking, Swimming, Boating, and Driving. We made our way to Hedo Point. The most northern point of Okinawa. There are some Awesome! Views up here!

Josh and I always love the Japanese noodles they sale @ festivals and little foods stands here in Okinawa, so we grabbed a few boxes of noodles and a few cups of Yakitori (chicken on a stick) We sat and ate. The Old Japanese lady then offered us something to drink... she said "water"..... Well, needless to say the 3 of us could not stop laughing. The mystery water looked like dirty water, like some water in a dirty cup that someone had just drank coffee out of before us! I threw in a few pictures of the little food stand (that would NEVER pass inspection in America) and our "water" ; that we decided not to drink, even though we were all dripping sweat! ;)

Hiking to Hiji Falls

Our Sunday Morning... We started our day with a hike to Hiji Falls! We packed a lunch and hiked with the kids on our backs! It took about a hour to get to the Waterfall! And we saw a snake along the way... ( I wanted to turn around and go back!) We ate lunch at the falls and played. Our hike back seemed faster and Fischer and Kennedy practiced counting all the steps. 1.2.3.4.5.... We were ALL very tired and HOt when we got back to the car.... so we went to Okuma Resort and swam at the beach. We also took a Glass Bottom Boat ride and got to go WAY out into the ocean and see all the live coral and alot of pretty fish, starfish, and a poisonous sea snake. Oh! and Fischer found Nemo!! ;)

Our Sunday!

Sunday June, 1st.

We went to Tori Station and hung out at the Water Slide and Beach! The water slide is pretty big! I was a little nervous to go down! Fischer went on Joshs lap and LOVED it! You could hear him screaming with excitement the whole way down! Then Josh wanted to take Kennedy; she had fun but was startled on the way down (you could tell by look on her face!) Well then Fischer kept saying he wanted to go all by himself. Josh and I tried to talk him out of wanting to go alone... that wasnt happening. So I went and waited in the pool below; Josh gave me a thumbs up from the top and OFF WENT FISCHER! I could hear him yelling but couldnt tell if is was a fun or scared yell???? He came around the last corner where i could see him with a huge ear to ear smile and I caught him!!! First thing said was " I want to do it again... on my belly!!" LOL He is quite the dare-devil. By the way, he didnt get to go on his belly! Mean ole' Mom! ;)
After the Beach we went home to change and went to our favorite Japanese Resturant "TSUBAKIYA" We got Sushi (fresh and lovely) Asparagus & Bacon, Bread Rolls, Kids Meal, Chicken & Beef, oohhh and there Shrimp Tempura...mmmm good! We were all stuffed and enjoyed our day out!
